The value and iterative practice of connected experience

Owned by long-standing client, Keppel Pacific Oak US REIT, the Plaza Buildings are a two-building workplace located between 108th and 110th Avenue NE in the center of an ever-changing Downtown Bellevue, WA.

Having been home to a long list of successful TAMI tenants, the Plaza Buildings has been a growth incubator for tech stars, start-ups and stable service companies for decades. The secret sauce of growth at 10800 and 10900 NE 8th Street has and continues to be its undeterred dedication to daily, enriching experiences for its companies and guests.

Nimble. has enjoyed collaborating on base brand identity, signage consulting and on-going interiors consulting for capital improvement initiatives spanning both buildings, with several spec suites and amenity activation projects on-the-boards for 2024.

Recently we had the great pleasure of revisiting 10900 Plaza’s standing amenity base.

The building’s amenities are inclusive of a first floor alternative meeting space (coined ‘the Library’), first floor cardio fitness studio and second floor conference wing.

Breathing fresh design into these spaces meant first uncovering the value they provide to daily audiences.

Through discovery conversation we learned each space held precedent ritual and purpose for daily users.

The meeting floor’s spaces were often pre-reserved weeks in advance, meaning function and flexibility held high ranking focus in their successful refresh.

Similarly, the Library offered open opportunity to reinvent what a quiet space off the bustling lobby core could deliver to users seeking a creative third place to host convenient gatherings of all kinds.

Bespoke details like a hidden media cabinet, curated books offering light education on travel, culture and imbibe, and moments of nostalgia pepper the user’s experience with delight and discovery.

Encouraging user behavior and return meant first studying the details that brought users to each amenity space and seeking avenues of efficiency, distinction and experience improvement.

In the fitness studio, we focused on the little things that promote sense of safety—natural light flow from the outside, quality of light on the inside and an energetic finish scheme to keep fitness goers grounded.

For the conference floor wing, it meant paying close attention to intuitive user accessibility of A/V, sound attenuation and flexibility of room dynamics, delivering versatile places for protected conversation and collaboration to take shape.

On The Boards

Actively in the works is a series of signage upgrades to improve daily vehicular and pedestrian wayfinding and cross-connection between both buildings in addition to a range of dynamic spec suites designed to compel Bellevue’s brightest to contribute their best work, together.

Stay tuned as we announce continued visual progress and brand momentum this year.
